Since 2014, adult and paediatric patients with a confirmed diagnosis of either coeliac disease or dermatitis herpetiformis have benefitted from a community pharmacy based gluten-free food service.
This is a national initiative introduced by the Scottish Government. More information on this service is available from NHS inform.

The NHS Ayrshire & Arran list of prescribable gluten free foods is listed below. Each month you may select a number of gluten-free foods from the list according to your monthly unit allowance. A patient information leaflet is also listed which explains the service and gives local contact information.
