NHS Ayrshire & Arran is pleased to announce the launch of their new Adult Diabetes Servicewebpage,offering tailored support and guidance to adults living in Ayrshire with diabetes.
The Adult Diabetes Service webpage provides guidance on diet, oral medications, GLP‑1 therapies, and insulin management as well as links to leaflets and education programmes to support people to manage their diabetes.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Diabetes Specialist Nurse Julie Cope said, “In Ayrshire and Arran, almost 30,000 people are living with diabetes – and every one of them has the power to take control of their health. We want to inspire people with diabetes, along with their families and carers, to embrace the benefits of self-management. By using the free tools and support available, they can make positive changes that improve wellbeing and quality of life.
“The webpage will make a real difference for local people living with diabetes by giving them clear up-to-date information, practical tools and the everyday support they need to feel more in control of their condition.”
Diabetes patients are able to find health information all in one place, the webpage also provides up-to-date diabetes guidance reviewed by our local health care professionals and access to details of education events and support groups happening locally.
Local patient Chris Myles, who has been using the webpage to manage his condition every day added, “Living with diabetes can feel overwhelming at times, but this resource gives me the confidence to take control. It helps me manage my own health and empowers me to live well.”
