Updated winter vaccination programme on the Isle of Arran

  • by NHSAAA

Patients living on the Isle of Arran who were impacted by the recent winter vaccine clinic cancellation are being contacted with updated appointment details.

The new arrangements have been put in place after the planned 31 October clinic at Ormidale Sports Pavillion was cancelled due to ferry disruptions.

The rescheduled clinic for this group of 319 patients will take place on Friday 14 November at Brodick Hall.

Those affected have been contacted by telephone. A small number will receive their details by post, as our contact centre staff were not able to reach them by phone.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Director of Public Health Lynne McNiven said:

“Unfortunately ferry disruptions meant we were unable to host our previously planned winter vaccine clinic on Friday 31 October.

“Staff have now secured an alternative date for those patients to receive their COVID and seasonal flu vaccines ahead of the winter, so please attend Brodick Hall on 14 November at the time allocated where our vaccinators will be delighted to welcome you.”

After this clinic has taken place, if you have missed your appointment, there will still be the opportunity to be vaccinated on Arran in a community pharmacy setting. From 15 November onwards, those aged 18 years and over can contact Brodick Pharmacy, by telephoning 01770 302250 to arrange an appointment for your flu or COVID-19 vaccination.
