Over the last two years, some of the domestic team working backshift at University Hospital Ayr have been holding raffles, bake and book sales in a bid to raise money for local charities.

Domestic Supervisors, Amanda Holland and colleague Sarah-Anne Stuart both work extremely hard to motivate and keep moral up within both their teams.

Amanda said, “Working in domestic services can be hard word and challenging at times.  It is important to keep your team’s spirts up.  Holding different events over the year is a great way of doing this, while raising money for worthwhile causes at the same time.

“Over the last two years, we have donated £600 to Whiteleys Retreat and £100 to Ronald McDonald House. We recently held a Christmas party and managed to raise an amazing £2,000 for Ayrshire Babyloss support group.

“All of these events have brought both our teams so much joy. Our teams get on really well and this gives them all something to look forward to.”
