Confidential Contacts
Confidential Contacts are independent of the normal management structures and are the initial point of contact for staff who want to raise whistleblowing concerns.
Confidential Contacts have the knowledge and skills to help you to raise your concern with the appropriate manager. They will provide a safe space to discuss concerns and support staff to raise concerns.

Speak Up Advocates
Speak Up Advocates provide information, advice, guidance and support to those who are considering or wish to raise concerns.
Speak Up Advocates:
- will be happy to listen to your concerns and talk you through your options in relation to raising a concern
- will listen to you without prejudice or judgment and support you
- can arrange to speak with you on the phone, via MS Teams or arrange to meet face to face
Our SUAs have been recruited from our workforce. They come from various disciplines and are located at various sites across the organisation. Their role is to
They are able to:
- signpost staff to suitable routes for raising concerns
- advise of the options available
- advise on relevant Board policies including Whistleblowing
- provide details of key contacts
- help you to access support
The SUAs can link with relevant managers and provide support by attending any meetings with the staff member.
Confidentiality is likely to be a worry for anyone who is considering speaking up. It is important that you understand that the SUA will not normally share your details with anyone until you give your consent.
