Services over Christmas and New Year 2025 / 2026
GP Practices
Your GP surgery will be closed for four days from Thursday 25th of December and will reopen on Monday 29th December 2025, and again from Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of January 2026 until Monday 5th January 2026. If you become unwell and cannot wait for your surgery to re-open, you should call NHS 24 on 111. Alternatively, there are some local pharmacies who will be open on these dates – please see the list below for pharmacy opening hours.
Repeat prescriptions
Every GP surgery has its process for ordering repeat prescriptions. This might be over the phone, or it could be online. Order only what you need, in plenty of time. Check with your practice how far in advance you need to order your repeat prescription.
