NHS Ayrshire & Arran Orthoptic department regularly accept undergraduate students from Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Liverpool. All students will receive an induction pack by email in advance of their start date.
This induction pack will include the following information –
- Date, time and location of face to face induction
- Department staff information
- Travel details to both main placement sites (University Hospital Crosshouse & University Hospital Ayr)
- Placement hours
- Library facilities
- Reporting protocol for illness during placement
- Advice regarding accommodation options
- Lead clinical tutors contact information
- Placement timetable (if available)
