The Biggart has open visiting hours from 8am to 10pm.
To help create a calm environment where patients can enjoy their meals uninterrupted, we kindly ask that visitors who are not supporting with meals leave during mealtimes.
Mealtimes are as follows:
- Breakfast: 8.30am to 9.30am
- Lunch: 12pm to 1pm
- Dinner: 4.30pm to 5.30pm
We welcome visitors to the ward, as this supports social engagement, rehabilitation and motivation for discharge. To ensure a comfortable environment for all patients, visiting is limited to two visitors at a time per patient.
It is helpful to identify one main next of kin to receive updates and share information with the wider family, as well as to coordinate visiting arrangements.
Please be aware that the wards do not follow set schedules, due to the complexity of individual care needs. Patients may be away from the ward for physiotherapy or occupational therapy assessments, which take priority. In these circumstances, you may be asked to leave and return once the assessment is complete.
If you receive any outpatient appointment letters at home, please bring them to the ward so staff can arrange attendance.
