Health Visitors

Health visitors work in the community, providing support to children under the age of 5 (pre-school) and their families.

Their main focus is on promoting the health and wellbeing of children and their families, preventing ill-health and supporting them to stay safe.

Every family will have a minimum of 11 visits by a Health Visitor, from the ante-natal period up until a child starts school. More visits may be scheduled if a family needs them. For further information visit the Universal Health Visiting Pathway page on the gov.scot website

If you would like any more information to support your child, please download the Ayrshire Bairns App.
