Older adult mental health services

Wards 3 and Ward 4 at Woodland View and Croy, Dunure, Iona/Lewis, Jura and Clonbeith Wards at Ailsa Hospital provide specialist mental health assessment and treatment for people aged 65 years and above who have organic (such as dementia) or functional (such as mood related or psychotic) mental illnesses.

Wards 3 and 4 have 15 single en suite rooms for patients living in the North Ayrshire area.

The older adult wards at Ailsa Hospital have 15 single rooms (except Croy Ward, with 14) and these wards provide assessment, treatment and care for patients living in South and East Ayrshire.

Visiting Times

Please contact individual wards about visiting times. All wards have protected meal times, do not visit during the following times:

  • Breakfast – 8am – 9am
  • Lunch – 12noon – 1pm
  • Dinner – 5pm – 6pm
