Radio station donates to children’s ward

The kind-hearted members of the Hospital Broadcasting Service Ayrshire’s (HBSA) radio station have used their members’ fees to make a donation to the children’s ward at NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s University Hospital Crosshouse. The team decided not to accept their usual members’ fees, but instead donate the £750 to help kids in hospital.

HBSA radio station is based at University Hospital Crosshouse and Dave Durham, Maggie Brown and Station Manager, Mark Fisher delivered a wagon full of goodies to the children’s ward. Patient, Kyle and NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s play manager, Michelle Dodds were delighted to accept the goodies on behalf of the ward.

Mark from the radio station said, “We are delighted to be able to offer these goodies to the patients at the children’s ward. It’s great to see Kyle and the other children benefitting from the donation.  We are so proud of every one of our radio volunteers for donating their fees. And not forgetting the amazing support of our show sponsors, who make it all possible and of course, this is all possible with.”

Hospital Play Specialist Michelle Dodds said: “We are so grateful to Mark and all the volunteers for this generous donation. They have helped make the time the children spend in hospital a little brighter.”
