Consultations

We work with NHS staff, patients, stakeholders and the public to improve the health outcomes for people in Ayrshire and Arran. Our consultations give people the opportunity to respond to tell us what they think about specific areas of our work including service changes.

Caring for Ayrshire – Share Your Views

Caring for Ayrshire is an exciting and ambitious programme that will transform health and care services across Ayrshire and Arran. Your views can help inform and shape these changes.

People are living longer and healthier lives, supported by medical advances, technology and improved public health. As more of us are living longer, the number of people needing care is increasing. This means our health and care services need to evolve to make sure we can look after more people, in better ways now and in the future.

Some new ways of working are already underway. We want to plan with people to help build on this and generate ideas to improve health and care services for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran.

What is important to you when accessing health and care services? Do you have ideas about how we can transform local services? We want you to get involved and participate in helping to shape services and develop new ideas to improve access to health and care locally in Ayrshire and Arran.

Get involved with Caring for Ayrshire.

Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Consultation

Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) is a collective term for all anti-cancer drug treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran provides Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) for breast, colorectal, lung, urology and haemato-oncology cancers. All other cancer types are currently provided in Glasgow at the West of Scotland Regional Cancer Centre – the Beatson Oncology Centre.

This consultation was about changes and proposals to how we deliver our SACT service for the local population in Ayrshire and Arran.

Participation in this consultation is now closed and we are in the process of collating all of the responses and information. Thank you to everyone who has contributed.

Find out more about the SACT consultation here.

Let’s Be Heard – Sharing Scotland’s COVID-19 Experience

The Scottish COVID-19 Inquiry has launched its listening project, Let’s Be Heard. This will be the main way in which people in Scotland can take part in the Inquiry by sharing their experiences of the pandemic and telling us the lessons they believe should be learned so we are better prepared in future. Click here for more information on the Scottish COVID-19 Inquiry and the Let’s Be Heard project.

Pharmacy Practices Committee

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking to appoint a number of voluntary Public Committee Members to the NHS Ayrshire & Arran Pharmacy Practices Committee (PPC). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and inform discussions and decide on community pharmacy applications for inclusion on the Ayrshire and Arran Pharmaceutical List to provide community Pharmaceutical services across Ayrshire and Arran.

Voluntary Public Committee Members are independent of the NHS and are crucial in providing an external perspective on important issues and decisions. Public Committee Members are responsible for ensuring the decision-making process is transparent and follows national guidance. We are particularly interested to hear from individuals who have experience as a member of a board or committee, or experience of operating at a strategic level in a professional role. Full training and support will be provided. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Please note that Public Committee Members cannot be current members of an NHS Health Board or have been a doctor, dentist, optician or pharmacist or an employee of a person who is a doctor, dentist, optician or pharmacist.
