The Labour Ward Bereavement Team at Ayrshire Maternity Unit has received an extremely generous donation from Christine and Matt Wardrop from Ayrshire.

Following the loss of their daughter Autumn in 2024, Christine and Matt wanted to show their gratitude for the care and support that they received from the Bereavement Team during this difficult time. Thanks to their amazing fundraising efforts completing the Great Scottish Run last year they raised an incredible £3,750. The couple attended Ayrshire Maternity Unit to present staff with the donation.

Attica Wheeler, Director of Midwifery/ Associate Nurse Director, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Christine and Matt for their generosity. In raising funds for our Bereavement Team, they are helping us to continue to support other parents and families during the most difficult of times.”

Christine and Matt continue to fundraise in memory of Autumn, and will both be taking part in the Great Scottish Run again this year on Sunday 4 October. Money raised will go to the Bereavement Team and charity Simba. Find out more and donate at the link below:
