“For the first time we are inviting everyone to get involved in deciding our Ayrshire Achieves recipients. It is really easy – simply visit our website to read all about our shortlisted colleagues and teams and then select your winners by voting! This is your chance to recognise the outstanding efforts of staff from across NHS Ayrshire & Arran and our three health and social care partnerships.”
In 2026 there is a new award category, the Callan Thain Young Achiever of the Year.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran Employee Director Ewing Hope explains:
“Sadly our colleague Callan Thain passed away last October, aged 29 years. Callan was a gifted and well-liked Biomedical Scientist and in his memory we have introduced a Young Achiever Award in his name for 2026. This prize recognises outstanding young individuals aged 30 years old or under who are working in health or social care roles within Ayrshire. It celebrates those in the early stages of their career who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation or impact in their field. This award is being made in Callan’s name in honour of his own remarkable talent and professional achievement in his early career.”
Help us celebrate health and social care excellence in Ayrshire. You can cast your vote on all seven Ayrshire Achieves categories between now and Monday 30 March 2026. The winners will be announced at a special ceremony on Thursday 4 June 2026 – good luck to everyone who has been shortlisted!
