Councillor Douglas Reid was appointed as a Non-Executive Member of NHS Ayrshire & Arran Board on June 2012 in his capacity as the nominated local authority councillor for East Ayrshire Council. Following local elections in 2017 and 2022 he was re-appointed on 7 June 2017 and reappointed again on 30 May 2022.
Councillor Reid is a member of the Scottish National Party for Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse. Councillor Reid is the Leader of East Ayrshire Council and Chair of Cabinet with responsibility for Covid Recovery, Strategic Planning, Community Wealth Building and Regeneration. He is also SNP Group Leaders for COSLA.
Douglas is a member of the Information Governance Committee and Staff Governance Committee and also the Remuneration Committee.
