IT equipment for Ayrshire Cancer Support

Irvine-based recycling firm CCL (North) supported Ayrshire Cancer Support by donating five repurposed laptops to assist the charity’s work across the region.

CCL (North) is part of the Optimum Eco group, Scotland’s leading recycler of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

Founder Bruce McLean and Technical Sales Lead Martin Yeudall presented the laptops to Barry Hunter from Ayrshire Cancer Support at CCL’s Irvine base.

Martin said:

“We’re delighted to help out Ayrshire Cancer Support with these repurposed laptops. We always make sure that nothing goes to waste and it’s great that they’ll be useful for the charity’s great work helping people affected by cancer in Ayrshire.”

Ayrshire Cancer Support provides practical and emotional support for people affected by cancer across Ayrshire, including:

  • patient transport
  • counselling
  • drop-in services

The laptops helped staff and volunteers maintain high quality services and avoid significant replacement costs, supporting the charity’s ability to deliver vital care in the community.

A spokesperson for Ayrshire Cancer Support said:

“We are most grateful to have had the opportunity to engage with the NHS Community Benefit Gateway. This help is appreciated hugely and supports staff and volunteers in our aim of providing free vital services to people affected by cancer in Ayrshire.”
