The Speech and Language Therapy Voice Team provide a specialist service to individuals who are experiencing problems with their voice (dysphonia).

Voice SLTs assess, treat, manage and help diagnose and prevent a wide range of voice disorders.

Head and neck cancer

The Head & Neck Speech and Language Therapy team can support those who may be experiencing difficulties with swallow, voice or speech as a result of their head and neck cancer. The team provides a highly specialist service to inpatients and outpatients.

Based at University Hospital Crosshouse, we provide:

  • specialist assessment, management and rehabilitation of swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), voice (dysphonia) and speech difficulties
  • trismus (restricted jaw opening)
  • laryngectomy rehabilitation
