Dr Huntly McCallum

Dr Huntly McCallum was educated at AyrAcademy and Edinburgh
University. He is currently GP principal in the Three Towns medical
practice, where he has worked for 18 years. In his early years in
medicine he held a number of posts throughout the UK and abroad. He
returned to Ayrshire in 1984, working across all the mainland
Ayrshire hospitals for several years and in a wide variety of
community posts.
Dr McCallum has been heavily involved in advisory work for NHS
Ayrshire & Arran in various capacities since 1985. Working with
NHS Ayrshire Doctors on Call (ADOC) since its inception has taken
him to all localities, large and small, across Ayrshire.
Clinically Dr McCallum has a particular interest in diabetes,
rheumatology, pain management and paediatrics. He has a weekly
radio phone-in programme - 3TFM's 'Docslot' - giving medical
advice.
In his spare time he enjoys golf, sailing and skiing. He also
takes an interest in sports medicine and assists Ardrossan Accies
Rugby Football Club. Dr McCallum is married with children and lives
in North Ayrshire.
