Orthoptics
Orthoptists play a key role in the diagnosis and management of
eye problems that mostly affect eye movement or the development of
vision. They see patients of all ages including babies and children
with lazy eye or squint.
Eye movement problems in adults often present with double vision
and may be caused by injury or a health problem, such as stroke or
multiple sclerosis. Orthoptists also assess and treat people with
reading difficulties, such as Meares Irlen Syndrome
