Scottish Ambulance Service

Getting to hospital for your appointment

Ambulance transport is available for patients who need support to reach their healthcare appointments if:
• their medical or mobility needs prevent them from travelling independently; and
• they require the support of the ambulance staff during the journey.

To request ambulance transport

Please call 0300 123 1236 (calls are charged at local rates for both landlines and mobiles) to request a journey.

The call taker will ask you a series of questions about your condition and, if appropriate, confirm your booking at the end of the call.

You may request ambulance transport up to 28 days in advance of your appointment. If you need support making the call then please ask your GP or carer.

If you need to cancel your ambulance transport please call 0800 389 1333.
