Person-centred care - Programmes

Ward experience programme

The PCC team works with a team of volunteers to collect feedback from patients, families and staff. This information is then analysed and used for improvement purposes.

Volunteers are a welcome addition to the team and are an important part of the ward experience programme. They assist the team by interviewing patients and relatives.

If you are interested in joining the team, please contact a member of the PCC team (insert link for About Us).

Compassionate connections workshops

Our Compassionate Connections workshops encourage staff to learn from patient and family experiences, and from their own emotional responses. They share positive ways of working that enhance and strengthen team relational capacity (the level of trust and safety between a senior staff member, and those learning from them), and help to embed compasĀsionate approaches when interacting with patients and families.

These workshops promote relationship centred compassionate care based on learning from experiences, and from skilled facilitation in hospital ward settings. They create an enriched environment and a positive ward culture where there are opportuĀnities to reflect, have conversations and discussions, and develop shared goals.

Flexible visiting

The PCC team supported NHS Ayrshire & Arran to introduce flexible visiting across all hospital sites from 2pm until 8pm. Leaflets on flexible visiting are available from wards. If you have any questions, please contact the nurse in charge of the ward you are visiting or click here.
