Stewart Donnelly started working for the NHS more than 37 years ago as a registered nurse. Working mainly in NHS Ayrshire & Arran, he has held a variety of roles over the years.
Stewart is a trade union representative for the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), a position he has held for the last 34 years in a number of officer positions. He is currently Vice Chair of RCN Scottish Board.
Since the early 2000s, Stewart has been working as a partnership facilitator supporting the organisation through some major changes. In October 2015, he was elected to the position of Chair of Staff Side / Employee Director. He is a non-executive member of Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board.
As a non-executive member of the Board, Stewart sits on a number of NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s governance committees. He is also the Chair of South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership’s Integrated Joint Board (IJB).
