Dr Alison Graham


Dr Graham joined NHS Ayrshire & Arran as Medical Director in March 2013, following six years as Medical Director of NHS Lanarkshire. She is also the former Medical Director of NHS Highland. 

Alison is a graduate of Dundee University Medical School and, following qualification, she held posts in Accident and Emergency and Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Scotland and England, before being appointed Director of Community Medicine at the Royal United Hospital in Bath in 1997. She joined NHS Highland as a locum Consultant in Public Health Medicine the following year, before being appointed Medical Director to the Highland Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in 1999 and Board Medical Director of NHS Highland in 2004. 

She currently serves on a range of national groups, including as well as contributing to regional and local work.

Alison is committed to instilling a patient-centred and high quality approach to all aspects of care, and to delivering a well trained and motivated medical workforce.
