Mr Alistair McKie was brought up and educated in Dumfries and Galloway and Glasgow and has lived in Ayrshire for almost 30 years. He has spent 35 years in public service taking on the responsibilities of a variety of different roles which include 31 years' police service. He retired as a Superintendent, Strathclyde Police with responsibility for social inclusion. He is currently employed as a Reporter with the Scottish Children's Reporters Administration. Mr McKie brings to the Board a strong sense of community and accountability and the need for sound governance, and his experience while involved in an inter-agency partnership working, both at a local and national level. Mr McKie is Chair of the NHS Ayrshire & Arran Audit Committee.
